Obituary for Johnathan Seabury, Jr.
Johnathan Seabury Jr. was born on October 30, 1981 in Columbus, Georgia to Johnathan Seabury Sr. and Arlitha Seabury. Johnathan was a member of Revelation COGIC. Through guidance from his grandparents, parents, and pastor, Johnathan gave his life to Christ at the age of 13. In 1999, he joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in Jacksonville, NC. As one of the few and proud, Johnathan rose to the rank of CPL. During his time in the military, he deployed several times overseas. In 2000, he met the woman who would soon become his wife and later the mother of his kids, Erica. After his life in the military, Johnathan went on to become head chef at Bryan’s Steakhouse and Kahills’ Restaurant and Pub in South Hill, Virginia. During his 40 years on Earth, Johnathan/Jake/Junior/Chef or whatever moniker you use to call him always liked to feed people. You know what I’m talking about. Think back to that hamburger helper, fried fish, and baked ziti he last fixed for you. Food for the soul was his specialty and if you caught the ‘itis’, you know he put his foot in it. When it was game time Johnathan did not mess around. No matter who you are or how old you are, if you play Spoons with him, there is a high chance that you will find yourself on the floor a time or too. More than anything Johnathan adored his family. Time with family was not negotiable. Until he departed this life to live with Jesus on January 7, 2022, Johnathan touched the soul and hearts of all that he met.
Johnathan leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Erica Seabury (Meherrin); sons Eric, Nova, Lyric; daughter, Shardaisia; granddaughter Serenity; parents Johnathan Seabury Sr. and Arlitha Seabury; grandmother Ardelia Vaughan; sisters Kewashia (Dion), Shakeyna, Bianca, Olivia, Harmony, Latisha (Winston), Latoya, Aneckie (Walter), Jennifa, Simone; brothers Jason (Yareli), Corey, Vari, Kenneth (Roladine); and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, great nieces and great nephews.
Johnathan is preceded in death by his son Malachi M’ysah Johnathan Seabury, grandparents Bishop Johnny C. Bryant, Maple Bryant, Pauline Seabury, and William Seabury.
