Mr. John David Green, affectionately kinown as "Johnnie" was born September 15, 1945 in New York City to Clarine Boose and the late John Simmons. Johnnie was called home to be the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2012.
At a young age Johnnie moved back to Burkeville and was raised under the watchful eyes of his mother and grandmother, Ms. Julia Green. being reared in a Christian home, at an early age Johnnie was baptized at the Yielding Zion Baptist Church in Burkeville, VA and he received his education in the public shools of Nottoway County.
Johnnie loved his family and being around them. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends. Johnnie loved playing cards, singing, making others laugh, and he loved race cars. Johnnie was a member of the New Breed Racing Club and was very proud of his membership within this organization. For those who spent time with Johnnie, there was never a dull moment. For if there was a joke to be told or if only to reminisce about old times, Johnnie had a story or two that would keep you laughing.

Johnnie leaves to cherish his precious memory:Â his mother and step-father, Clarine and Waverly Boose; one brother, Waverly, Jr.; two nephews, Reginald and Roderick; four nieces.
