Obituary for Joe Lewis Booker
JOE LEWIS BOOKER, son of the Ben and Pearl Booker, was born February 28, 1939 in Amelia, VA. He departed this life on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Midlothian, VA.
He attended Russell Grove High School in Amelia, VA. Joe was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Joe was a saw mill worker for many years. He loved fishing, Nascar Racing and socializing with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Booker and five sisters, Celia Royal, Francis Brown, Jenny B. Holcomb, Florence Royal and Mary Pitford.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Booker of Amelia, VA; step-son Kenneth Royal of Amelia, VA; three daughters, Pearline Baker, Patricia Royal and Alberta Carter, all of Amelia; four grandchildren, Charles Baker, Jr., of Farmville, VA, Max Royal of Richmond, VA, Don Royal and Mario Royal, both of Amelia, VA; six great grandchildren, Cierra Baker of Farmville, VA, Kierra Royal, Trayvon Royal, Marielle Royal, Marquan Royal and Marquelle Royal, all of Amelia, VA; two brothers, Ben Booker, Jr. and Henry Booker, both of Amelia, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
