Obituary for Jessica L. Bolden
Jessica Lashaye Bolden, often referred to as “Ma-Ma” was born on July, 25, 2003 to Dennis Bolden and Barbara Johnson in Farmville, Virginia. On Sunday evening, February 28, 2016 at VCU Medical Center (MCV campus), Jessica was granted her angel wings after her valiant battle with a lifelong illness. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Jessica had touched in some small way throughout her short, yet very memorable life.
Jessica’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around her and her laughter could light up any room, and although she faced many trials not once did she complain.
Jessica was a friend to all and had a loving and caring heart. She attended Amelia County Middle School when well enough to do so, but also received homebound instruction. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, dancing, fishing, cheering, riding go-carts, and playing basketball. Jessica had a peaceful presence and touched the lives of all those she met. Although small and quiet at times, she had no problem stating how she felt. Jessica was a strong believer in God and now resides in the Kingdom where she will suffer no more. Jessica will truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Jessica leaves to cherish her memories, her parents Dennis Bolden and Barbara Johnson, two sisters; Sherimekia Bolden and Jasmine Bolden, a paternal grandmother, Eloise Bolden Lee, who preceded her in death, a maternal grandmother; Gail Johnson, two uncles; Eric Lewis Bolden and Samuel Edward Lee Jr., three great uncles; Norman (Rosa) Bolden, Arthur Booker, and Patrick Johnson, two great aunts; Eula Denise Bolden, Shirley (Clarence) Carter, her best friend; Makayla Robinson, a host of great great aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
