Jennie Jackson was born September 22, 1932 to McKinley and Jennie Cousins Ward.
Jennie attended school in Amelia and Nottoway Counties. At an early age, she joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Crewe, VA.
Jennie married Henry Jackson and from that union two children were born, Claudia and Patricia Jackson.
Jennie worked for and retired from Tyson Food after twenty years of service.
Jennie was preceded in death by her parents, McKinley and Jennie Ward; her husband, Henry Jackson; two brothers, George and Freeman Ward; three sisters, Julia Stith, Bobbie C. Ward Hill and Mary E Oliver.
Jennie departed this life on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Henrico County.
Jennie leaves to cherish her memories: her daughters, Claudia Farrell of Amelia and Patricia Jackson of Crewe; two grandsons, Abdul Jackson (Charrissa) of Chesterfield and A.J. Mahan of Crewe; granddaughter, Jaquanna Thompson of Richmond; great granddaughter, Christina of Chesterfield; stepson, Alvon Pegram of Amelia; sisters, Ardelia Vaughan of Crewe, Addie Jennings of Boston, Carrie Anderson of Crewe and Millie Glover of Blackstone; brother, McKinley Ward, Jr. of Hopewell; a loving niece, Annie Bradshaw of Crewe; two brothers-in-law, Roscoe Anderson, Sr. of Blackstone and Ben Stith of Crewe; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 1:00PM at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home, Blackstone. Interment Fowlkes Family Cemetery, Crewe.
