Obituary for Janice L. Booth
Janice L. Booth, age 63, was led by God’s angels into eternal life on Saturday, May 14, 2011. She was born on March 12, 1948 to the late James Byrd and the late Mable Eppes Lee. She was raised by her uncle and aunt Oliver and Sallie Byrd.
She was educated and lived mostly in Amelia County. She joined and served at the Amelia Baptist Church until her death. She was employed by Holly Farms for many years before she went into the nursing field as a CNA which resulted in her employment at Heritage Hall in Blackstone, VA, the Amelia Nursing Home in Amelia, VA, Piedmont Senior Resource in Burkeville, VA, Piedmont Geriatric Hospital in Burkeville, VA, and Caremed in Burkeville, VA.
Janice was joined in holy matrimony to her loving husband of almost 43 years Percy Booth. To this union three children were born, one son Alexander M. Booth of Burkeville, VA and two daughters Tawana Booth of Burkeville, VA and Yolanda Booth-Lee (Kevin) of Rice, VA. She adored her grandson Kevin Lee, Jr., “KJ”. Janice loved her family very much and reminded them of it every day. Other surviving relatives include six sisters Stella Allen (Alphonso), Bernice Van Romondt (Percell), Lucille Lee, Christine Brown (Silas), Joyce Smith (James), and Phyllistine Foster (Christopher) and five brothers Paul Lee, Jr., Sampson Lee, Thomas Lee (Shelia), Billy Lee (Sue) and James White. Other in-laws include Alice and Richard Christopher, Josephine and James Forrest, James Booth, and Rosa Booth. She also leaves several cousins and close friends Virginia Stanton, Sarah Byrd, Stacy Byrd, Sr., Dorothy Byrd-Owens, Loraine Booker and Darlene Dabney. Also she leaves a special father and mother figure Alvin & Helen Lee. She also loved many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral Services Friday, May 20, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Amelia Baptist Church, Rice with interment in the church cemetery.
