Obituary for Janice C. Jones
A life well lived came to a close on April 25, 2019, when Janice Celastine Jones was called to her heavenly home. She was born to the late Russell and Viola Jones in Burkeville, Virginia.
At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a lifelong member at Macedonia Baptist Church, Burkeville, Virginia. She was a faithful servant of the church and was a dedicated member of many ministries, including a Deaconess. She graduated from Luther H. Foster in 1965 and graduated from Smith Madden Business College in Richmond, VA in 1967. Janice was a dedicated worker for 32 years at the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
As Janice continued to live her life as a devoted servant of the Lord, she stayed on purpose by unconditionally loving family, friends and the community. She fed our bodies with her delicious meals and fed our souls. She continuously gave us encouraging words and taught us to be a blessing. Her love reached no limits and she had a special place in her heart for children.
Janice is survived by a devoted companion, Richard L. Marlowe; an uncle, Lee H. Miller; an aunt, Nannie Miller; cousins, David Miller (Gena), Carlton Miller (Loretta), Patricia Miller Williams, Linda Cook, James Miller, George (Pat), Rodney Miller (Fannie), Thomas Miller (Sandra), and Randolph Miller; a goddaughter, Latrice Betz (Jamar); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
