Obituary for James Miller
On Saturday, July 5, 2025, James V. Miller (Skeeter) unfolded the last chapter of his life at Centra Southside Hospital Farmville, VA.
James was born March 31, 1930 to Allen Mallory Miller and Anna G. Miller in Burkeville, VA.
James was educated in Nottoway County School System. After moving to New York at an early age, he worked various jobs, including being a chauffer to many, that’s when he met the love of his life. He later joined the United States Army.
James married the love of his life Barbara Miller and to this union, they were blessed with five children.
James moved back to Virginia and joined Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for many years. He was a faithful member of the Southside Deacon Conference, he was also involved in Habitat of Humanity, and a member of Alms House until his health began to fail.
James is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara; his daughter, Renee; his son Roger; two brothers; five sisters; and his parents, Allen Mallory Miller and Anna G. Miller.
James leaves to cherish his memory: his four devoted daughters, Deborah, Linda, Pamela and Almeta; two sons, Ralph Harvey Lee Branch (Sandra) and Tyrone Miller; one brother, Mallory; godchildren, Deacon David and Mable Dodson; seven grandchildren, Ralph Branch Jr. (Lucille), Kevin Branch (Bridgett), Rodney Miller, Unique Brown (LaSean), Jevon Miller, Chatney Merrill and Kristen Frazier; and a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, family and friends.
