James D. Coleman (Durwin) was born May 13, 1967 to James A. Coleman and the late Mary Alice Coleman. He departed this life on December 10, 2019 in the comfort of his home.
James was educated in the Nottoway County school system. At an early age he accepted Christ at Yielding Zion Baptist Church in Burkeville, VA.
James was employed at several jobs, but his last job was with Piedmont Geriatric Hospital in Burkeville, VA. He enjoyed watching the Miami Heats Basketball team, but everyone knew he loved the Cowboys.
James leaves to cherish his memory: his father, James (Lillian), his fiancé , Toni; kids, James Jr. and Vonnie (BJ), Durron; step kids, Keshawn, Shamika and Devron; grandkids, Nya, Harmony, Mya, Khalil and Alaijah; his brother and sisters, Serena, Karen (Vincent) and Shawn; aunts and uncles, Glenda (Richard), Sylvia (John), Nellie (Russell), Theodore (Cynthia), Mary, Gladys (Freddie), Barbara, Lonnie Jr., Larue (Sharon), George (Marie), Lisa, Jeffery, Steve, Larry (Nancy), Flossie and Roy; two devoted friends, PJ and Jimmy; god children, Delanta, Shantel and Alexis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Monday, December 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at High Rock Baptist Church, Rice. Interment church cemetery.
