Obituary for James Andrew Boose
On Sunday afternoon, July 13, 2008, JAMES ANDREW BOOSE was called to rest after a long illness. James was born May 17, 1937 to the union of William and Claudine Irby Boose. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Orlander.
James was baptized at Little Mount Baptist Church in his early years and attended until his health failed. He attended school in Nottoway County. James retired on disability from Burkeville Veneer Plant.
James will always remain in our hearts. He was the quiet brother, probably because the others talked so much he didn’t get a chance to talk. One of his brothers always mentions how free hearted he was. He would give you his last dime if you needed it. He enjoyed having his brothers and sisters together. His last days were filled with childhood stories and a room full of laughter. As he was weakening he was able to make jokes. We will never forget those times because they were as typical family times. So now dear brother take your rest. You fought a good battle and stayed as long as you could. Rest until we see you again and tell everyone hello for us.
James leaves to mourn: his brother Waverly Boose, Sr. (Clarine), sisters Elnora and Sadie Boose all of Blackstone, VA; brothers William (Hazel) of Petersburg, VA and Emroy (Dorothy) of Rice, VA; three nieces; four nephews; one great niece; two great nephews; and a host of cousins and extended relatives.
Funeral Services Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Little Mount Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangments.
