Isham Bernard Mikeal-McNair was born to Beverly Mikeal and Roger McNair on February 16, 1976, in Bronx, New York at Jacobi Medical Center
Isham, or Omega as he was lovingly known by so many, attended the Modern School in Manhattan, New York. He moved to Virginia with his mother in 1987 and attended Nottoway County Schools. They then moved to the Hampton Roads area where Isham attended Kecoughtan High School. He later went on to receive his GED. In 1997 Isham attended Norfolk State University where he made lifelong friendships. Isham has held several jobs, but his most fulfilling was working with disabled adults and children. He thrived in that role and found immense satisfaction in helping his clients in their daily lives. At the time of his death, Isham was employed driving a box truck over the road. He was enjoying the freedom this offered. His only objection was the prolonged time away from home.
Isham “Omega” was larger than life. He had a commanding presence and personality. Isham had a heart of gold and loved his family – both biological and chosen – and friends fiercely. He was a protector and never hesitated to help in any situation. Sadly, on September 18, 2023, Isham left this earthly plane. He was preceded in death by his mother Beverly Mikeal, his father Roger McNair, his Grandparents Bernard and Ruth Mikeal and Phillip and Irene McNair. He departed this life, leaving to cherish his memory his devoted wife Takesha Mikeal-McNair and his loving daughters Daiyja Walker (Miguel), Angel Whitfield, Raanee Mikeal-McNair and Nyobi Mikeal-McNair and his grandsons Isaiah Mikeal-McNair and Malachi Walker. He was very excited about his new grandchild on the way, due February 17, 2024!
He leaves to mourn his loss his stepmothers Ruby McNair and Jackie Lewis, his father-in-law Kelvin Williams (Shalanda) and his Godmother-in-law Frances Scott. His siblings (phew lol) Regina McNair, Keith McNair (Denise), Renee McNair-McFarland (Nigel), Kitina McNair, Jarahia McNair, Janeice McNair, Nashawn Gibbs (Ernest), Lamishya Bryant (Tony), Khilee Guerrant-Lee (Terrell), Hershel Guerrant, Brittany Johnson, Brinston “Chucky” Johnson and his cousin/brother Antwane McNair.
Isham also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers by choice. These men have been a huge part of his life for many, many years and through different phases of his life. They are all family to Isham and he considered them Uncles (and Aunts) to his children. Randolph “Wise” Phillips, Jack Morrealle (Civ), Omar Harris (Stephanie), James “J.O.” Overton (Likehea), Shawn Bright (Retecka), Savallus “Kelley” Kelley, Cardiss “Playmaker” Taylor, Varney Goll (Lacee), Ricky Hardy, Alton “A.J.” Jones (Khia), Guy Hamm, Arthur “Peaceful” Johnson (Kenisha), Gene “Sketch” Frodge, Kevin “ Kev Newt” Newton (Tiffany), Gregory Williams, Mark Baskin, Edward Dunn (Neesha), Patrick Sinois, Kevin “K.K.” Jones, Kevin Reese (Amanda), Chaulice “Juice” Jones and Brunsha “Sha” Perkins (Kaela).
Isham also leaves a host of aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss him dearly.
