Obituary for Isaac T. Perry
Isaac Thomas Perry departed this life December 30, 2014 at his residence surrounded by family.  He was born in Nottoway County October 24, 1925, the oldest of eight children to the union of the late Gertrude Gee Perry and James Norman Perry.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
He attended public school in Nottoway County and worked for Rural Electric Association in Crewe, VA before being drafted in the US Army October 1945, where he served twenty years before retiring at Ft. Meade, MD in 1956.
Isaac was united in holy matrimony to Ruth Mason Perry (she preceded him in death) October 4, 1958.  To this union one daughter was born.
He resided in Baltimore, MD until returning to Blackstone, VA in 1978.  He worked several jobs including the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, VA and Ft. Pickett, Blackstone VA until retiring in 1990.  In 1998 he was employed at Wal-Mart, Blackstone, VA until he retired in 2008.  He was one of the first and a lifetime member of VFW Past 5313.
Isaac was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him.  Willing to give a helping hand when needed.  He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Alicia and Mark Anthony of Crewe, VA; a devoted brother Willie (Juanita) of Crewe, VA; sister-in-law Alice Fitzgerald of Baltimore, MD; two god sons, Kenneth Woodson and Allen Mitchell of Baltimore, MD; devoted friends, Alice Birckhead, Maude Lee, Fred Davis, Bob Johnson and Charles Bishop; a loving care-taker Brenda Johnson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
