Obituary for Inez Berkley Gomez
Gently and peacefully our family circle was broken on July 26, 2012. The spirit of our loving mother and grandmother went to join the Saviour in a home not built with hands, but whose maker and builder is God. Inez was the daughter of the late Ella Peterson.
Inez attended school in Nottoway, Virginia. She was fondly and lovingly called “Miss Nick” by this community. Inez was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Fred Douglass Jennings and the late Esten Gomez. God blessed her with three sons.
She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons, Thaddus (Puddin) Lee Berkley (Thelma) of Crewe, VA, James Berkley of Rocky Mount, NC, and George (Georgie Boy) Berkley (Marie) of Crewe, VA; one sister, Margaret Epps of Crewe, VA; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Blackstone with interment in the Jackson Cemetery, Crewe.
