Obituary for Herbert J. Henley, Jr.
On the morning of August 26, 2015, God dispatched his angel and called our loved one, Herbert J. Henley Jr., affectionately known as ‘Sonny’ home from labor to reward. Herbert was born on January 28, 1962 to Herbert Sr. and Gladys Henley.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Liberty Baptist Church. He was educated in the Amelia County Public School system.
Over the years through his various avenues of employments, ‘Sonny’ enhanced his gifts and talents as an exceptional and skilled mechanic and efficient truck driver. His true passion was cars, exploring every aspect they have to offer. He passed his knowledge of cars on to his son, Tyrell. He was a hard worker and was employed until his health began to fail.
Herbert married his love, Charlene Diane Nash on August 26, 1988 and they were blessed with three children, Tonique, Tony and Tyrell.Â
‘Sonny’ was preceded in death by his wife Charlene Henley, mother and father, Herbert Sr. and Gladys Henley and sister, Brenda Henley.
Herbert leaves to cherish his memory: his loving and devoted daughter, Tonique;  loving sons, Tony and Tyrell;  grand-daughter, Kamiyah;  sister, Gloria Henley and brother Ronnie (Chandra) Henley; two aunts, Mary Jane Cox and Ann (John) Middleton; five uncles, William (Mazelene) Henley, Peter (Dorothy Mae) Henley, Johnny (Mary) Henley, George Henley and Bobby (Lavern) Henley; mother and father-in-law, Willie and Rosa Nash, four brother-in-laws, Arthur Green,  George (Karen) Nash, Anthony (Christine) Nash and Kenneth (Kathleen) Nash; God-grandsons, Josiah, Dayvion and Kamden and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Funeral Services Monday, August 31, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church, Amelia with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
