Obituary for Helena V. Jefferson
On Thursday, April 2, 2020, our dearest loved one entered eternal life surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Helena Viola Jefferson was born September 17, 1942 to the late Andrew and Martha Archer. Helena became a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church at an early age. She graduated from Russell Grove High School and later went on to be a Nannie in Bethesda, MD for several years. After returning to Virginia she began cooking in restaurants, cleaning homes and working for Chesterfield County Public Schools until retirement in 2008.
Helena had a heart of gold and was very passionate about kids and the well-being of others so much that she inherited the name of "Mama Lena" and "Lena Bena". She opened her house to anyone in need. In her pastime she enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and spending rime with her family.
Helena was preceded in death by her son, William Edward "Boobee" Jefferson, Jr. She leaves her fond memories to be cherished by her daughters, Stephanie Baker (James) and Monique Jefferson; six grandchildren, Jaron, Jared and Jakyra Baker, James Ross, Kourtni Thompson and Kouri Jefferson; three great grandchildren, Jashya Gass, Kali and Kamya Jefferson; one sister, Helen Mack; two sisters-in-law, Mable and Janice Archer; love kids, Kathy and Katie Bullock, Kelson Wilson, Devin and Telvis Jefferson, Tywan , Tyrell and Frances Manuel; devoted friend, Queen Jackson; devoted niece, Vivian Archer; other relatives and friends.
