Obituary for Helen L. Lee
Helen L. Lee entered her eternal rest on Sunday, February 9, 2020 surrounded by family at Lynchburg General Hospital, Lynchburg, Virginia.
Mom was born January 26, 1930 in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Bernard and Rosa Williams. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Yielding Zion Baptist Church, Burkeville, Virginia. Later, she joined the High Rock Baptist Church, Rice, Virginia
Mom attended Morning Star School, in Burkeville, VA. She had a passion for sewing, painting, canning, cooking, gardening, caregiving and most of all babysitting. Her love for family was instilled in all of us!
On November 11, 1952 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Alvin Lee, Sr. To this union eight children were born. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a heart of gold and was loved by all.
Engraved in our hearts to cherish her memories are: devoted husband of (67) sixty seven years, Alvin; children, Leroy (Joan), Carl (Barbara), Joseph Lester, Phyllis (Jody), Michael (Rhonda), Jerry (Penny), David, and Terry (Lisa); sister, Elsie; sisters in law, Iona and Queen; twenty (20) grandchildren; twenty four (24) great grandchildren; three (3) great-great grandchildren; adopted daughters, Kimberly Lee, Mary Miller and Margo Johnson Hall; devoted friend, Berlean Smith; devoted caregiver, Nancy Saunders and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Friday, February14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at High Rock Baptist Church, Rice. Interment church cemetery.
