Obituary for Helen L. Keeton
Helen Louise Keeton was born October 18, 1937 in Nottoway County to Willie and Christine Stewart. She departed this life on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
Helen attended Luther H. Foster School and graduated with the class of 1956. She later earned a Nursing Certificate from Southside Manpower Skill Center. She delighted in working with Macedonia Baptist church where she served on several auxiliaries, President of the Pastor’s Aide Committee, Church Treasurer, Senior Choir Member, and Missionary Circle Member.
Helen was a nursing caretaker with over thirty-five years of nursing experience at various locations. Her favorite pastimes were fishing, attending Church, and comforting/helping others.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Timothy Stewart, Charles Edward Carter and Arthur Carter, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories: a brother Phillip Stewart (Gwendolyn); a sister Sheila Williams; two sons, Roger Keeton, Jr. of Hampton, VA and Michael Keeton of Byron, GA; two daughters Karen Keeton Hughes (Donald) of North Chesterfield, VA and Michele Keeton of Burkeville, VA; close companions Ruby Garnes, Christine Rowe, First Lady Dorothy Rather and Mr. William Bragg; and a host of grandchildren, great grands, nieces, nephews and friends.
