Haywood Henry Hardy, Jr. 79 of 8606 Claystreet Road, Ford, VA departed this life on March 8, 2021 at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg, VA. He was born April 21, 1941 to Haywood Hardy, Sr. and Jessie Hardy Malloy.
Everyone knew him as “Sonny Hardy”. He was a retiree of Philip Morris, USA. Haywood loved the New York Giants football team.
Haywood was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of thirty-seven years, Sherry Hardy of Ford, VA; two sons, Tremaine Hardy and Roderick Hardy (Melissa) of Dinwiddie, VA; one sister, Zenorbia Goode of Petersburg, VA; one brother, Robert Hardy (Shirley) of Blackstone, VA; two brothers-in-law, Calvin Whitley (Sharon) of Richmond, VA and Sherman Wright of Blackstone, VA; one sister-in-law, Sandra Whitley of Crewe, VA; four grandchildren, Tremaine Hardy, Jr., Faith Hardy, Micheal Hardy and Armai Hardy; one aunt, Dorothy Hawkins; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 11AM until 3PM. Interment private
