Obituary for Harvey L. Booker, Sr.
HARVEY LOUIS BOOKER, SR. went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2012 at his residence in Burkeville, VA. Son of the late Willie Booker Sr., and Rosetta Booker, he was born on October 29, 1958 in Amelia County, VA.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Jetersville, VA. He knew the word of God and quoted scriptures in conversations. He possessed the ability to make anyone smile with his comical sense of humor. He touched the lives of many people in Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia as he traveled back and forth.
Harvey was educated in the Nottoway County School Systems. He received his high school diploma in 1977. He worked for the Campbell Soup Company for seven years. He has also worked for numerous grocery stores in the produce department.
On February 15, 1991 he was joined in matrimony to Lisa Fontaine, to this union they were blessed with two sons, Corbin and Harvey Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons, Corbin and Harvey Jr. both of Salisbury, MD; ex-wife, Lisa Fontaine of Salisbury, MD; two sisters, Rosalean Booker and Edith (Reggie) Craft, both of Burkeville, VA; five brothers, Charles (Vernita) Booker of Yonkers, NY, James (Rosetta) Booker of Burkeville, VA, Freddie (Charlene) Booker of Burkeville, VA and Willie Booker Jr. of Burkeville, VA; four nieces, Charleszetta (Ernest) Santos of Richmond, VA, Nikki, Shante and Riana; four nephews, Credenza (Diane) of New York, Troy, Freddie Jr. and Regis; one aunt, Beatrice (Robert) Miller of Amelia, VA; two uncles, Willie Johnson of Richmond, VA and James Johnson of Amelia, VA; and a host of devoted cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Jetersville with interment in the Craft Family Cemetery, Burkeville.
