Obituary for Harold C. Ingram
On Sunday morning, October 6, 2013, Harold Conell Ingram entered into eternal rest in Washington, DC.  Conell was born on August 25, 1972 to Harold Conell Anderson and Thelma Ingram Gray in Blackstone, VA.
He graduated in 1989 from Nottoway High School and attended St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, VA.  He then joined the United States Army where he served for nineteen years and was active in two war tours.  At the time of his death he was an active member of the United States National Army Guard Reserve.
He was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond, VA.  He was re-baptized and joined the Union Baptist Church in Crewe, VA in 2009 where he was an active member serving on the Men’s Choir, Men’s Ministry and Usher Board.  Conell was a part of various baseball and basketball leagues, bowling leagues and he coached the Nottoway Gators Youth Football Team for several years.  Conell was employed with the Holland Company out of Crete, IL.
Conell was loved by many.  He knew how to make you laugh, cry and stand at attention in a way that no one else could.  He had a smile that could light up the world and his light shined bright, especially in the “Taylor Bottom” community in Blackstone, VA where he will truly be missed.
Conell leaves to cherish his loving memory:  his mother Thelma Doretha Gray and father Harold Conell Anderson; stepmother, Mary Dowdy Anderson; his loving partner Shatan Smith; two daughters, Danielle Jackson of Lawrenceville, VA and Mariah Redd of Crewe, VA; four sons, Corneilius Felder (Erin) of Kenbridge, VA, Damien Jackson and Jordan Jackson, both of Lawrenceville, VA and Thomas Ingram of Victoria, VA; three sisters, Angela Hawkes (Cedric) of Blackstone, VA, Rashanda Booker of Richmond, VA and Latonya Anderson (Lamar) of Meherrin, VA; five brothers, Jimmy Gray (Jessica) of Blackstone, VA, Timothy Ingram (Marlene) of Victoria, VA, Tremaine Gray (Daphne) of Blackstone, VA, Jason Anderson of California and Timothy Stewart of South Boston, VA; two stepbrothers, Kevin (Shaneka) and Sylvester Harris, Both of Petersburg, VA; grandmother, Thelma Ingram Staten of Blackstone, VA; his best friend, James Jackson; a devoted friend, Lakisha Ingram; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday October 11, from 5 to 7 pm.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Blackstone Conference and Retreat Center (VUMAC) 707 Fourth St., Blackstone, VA.
Interment with Military Honors at the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.  
W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday October 11, from 5 to 7 pm.
