Obituary for Gwendolyn O. Delaney
Gwendolyn Octavia Delaney, the daughter of James and Barbara Delaney and granddaughter of Soland and Emma Bland, was born July 2, 1963, and departed this life on Sunday, June 12, 2022. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, sister Angela Delaney and brother, Ricky Delaney.
Gwendolyn’s loving and kind nature was known by all. You could often hear her greet you by saying “Hallelujah” or “I am blessed.” If you knew Gwen, you would know that she believed beyond a shadow of a doubt that “God had her.” Her unwavering faith is what allowed her to overcome EVERY situation she encountered. May our lesson and memories of her remind us all to hold fast to our faith.
Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her loving memories: one son, Marquise (Melissa) Johnson; grandchildren, Madison Ward, Adara Johnson, Khloe Johnson, Brooke Johnson, Caleb Johnson, Jude Johnson; parents, Isaiah & Barbara Rumph; sister, Lisa (Frankie) Summers; brother, Darin (Aishah) Rumph; aunts, Mildred Stanley and Shirley Jasey; and a host of nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
