Obituary for Gloria Jean Fitzgerald
Gloria Jean Pritchett Fitzgerald, known as Beanie or Aunt Jean Jean, departed this life on May 28, 2013. Daughter of the late Lucille and James Pritchett, was born December 14, 1958.
At an early age she joined Poplar Lawn Baptist Church, and later joined the Usher Board. She attended and graduated from Nottoway High School.
Gloria married Troy Fitzgerald and to this union one son was born.
Gloria was a pitcher for the Mean Machine Softball Team,, and was known as “Lefty.”
She worked at Heritage Hall as a CNA and in housekeeping. She was also a seamstress at Levi Strauss
Before her health began to fail she was a special baby sitter for her great nieces and nephews.
Gloria leaves to cherish her memory: her son, Quinton Lindell Fitzgerald (Patrice Griffin); grandson, Carter Fitzgerald; two brothers, Edward Pritchett (Rebecca) of Petersburg, VA, James L. Pritchett of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Cynthia P. Neal of Blackstone, VA, Angela P. Staten (Joseph) of Blackstone, VA and Janet P. Wilson (Bernett, Jr.) of Blackstone, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
