Obituary for Gertrude Taylor Oulds
Gertrude Taylor Oulds took her heavenly flight on December 11, 2010 to be with the Lord.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.  She was known by so many as "Boo".  She loved her family and friends, and was known for her winning smile.  She fought the good fight and finished the course, and the Lord whispered "well done my good and faithful servant thou has been faithful over a few things enter thou into the joy of the Lord."
Sister Oulds was born on May 14, 1932 in Powhatan, Virginia to the late Deacon and Deaconess Frank Taylor.  She was educated in the Powhatan County Public Schools.  She joined the Second Antioch Baptist Church at an early age.  She served in the Second Antioch Senior Choir.  She became a Watch Care member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in 1962.  Due to health failure, she was unable to serve both churches.  She joines as a member of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in 2008.  She served on the Mount Olive Baptist Church Sunday School Ministry, Missionary Ministry and Senior Choir.
She is preceded in death by her husband John J. Oulds, Sr.; brothers Floyd, Freeman and Elton Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her memories:  three loving and devoted children, Betty Wood, Florence Crayton (John), and John J. Oulds, Jr; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Ross, Ada Taylor and Gladys Booker; one brother Edward Taylor; three sisters-in-law, Lillie Mae Taylor, Elizabeth Taylor and Lucy Brown; twenty-one nieces; twelve nephews; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Friday, December 17, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
