Obituary for Gerald L. King
Gerald Leon King was born on August 27, 1948 and was the son of the late Ruth Mary King and John Lewis Sr. From an early age, he was raised by William and Katherine "Ms. Sue" Oliver.
He attended Nottoway Public School system. Gerald was employed in multiple jobs including Uniroyal and Wilkerson Tire Company where he retired after 27 years. Gerald was baptized on July 26, 2008; he was a member of Fourth Mt Zion Baptist Church.
After a long and courageous battle, Gerald passed away at 8:40 PM on Tuesday, February 4 at MCV surrounded by his family. He was united in marriage to Barbara Ann White on December 2, 1967. From this union, five daughters were born: Amanda (Tony); Cassandra (Aaron); Learna (Ralph); Anita (Damion) and Latonya. Gerald has five grandchildren including Brandon, Daija, Diamond, Damond and Damion Jr. (Spanky).
In addition to his wife and daughters, Gerald leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, two brothers, four aunts, one uncle and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sisters and brothers: Patricia Jones (Lacey); Onnie Lewis; Adrienne Lewis (Bernard); Jessie King (Sandra) and John Lewis.
Aunts and Uncle: Margaret Eppes, Audrey Hawkes, Dorothy Foster (Dot); Lorraine King and Warren King.
Gerald also had six sisters and four brothers that preceded him in death. Gerald will truly be missed by his family and friends.



Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Fourth Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Crewe with interment in the Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.

The family will visit with friends at the funeral home Sunday, February 9 from 4:30 pm until 6:00 pm.
