Obituary for George W. Johnson, Sr.
George Weston Johnson, Sr. was born May 28, 1935 in Jetersville, VA to Russell and Mary Brown Johnson. He departed this life on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at Laurels of Bon Air in Chesterfield, VA.
George served in the United States Navy, serving on submarines and tour in Vietnam. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for the Federal Government in Health and Human Services in Philadelphia, PA, from which he also retired.
George loved his rabbit dogs, hunting and fishing, but most of all he loved his family.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mary; his wife Janice; and seven siblings. He is survived by one son, Walter Johnson; a sister, Yvonne Johnson; devoted nephew, Vincent Johnson; a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside Services were held Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Pilgrim Baptist Church, Jetersville.
