Obituary for George H. Eppes, Jr.
George Eppes, Jr., departed this life on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 12:00 noon at MCV Hospital. He was born January 1, 1964 to Sadie Eppes and George Eppes, Sr.
George Jr. joined Shiloh Baptist Church at an early age where he served on the Junior Usher Board. He was a member of the Boy Scouts. George went to Nottoway Senior High School and graduated in 1983. He was employed with L.V. Roofing and Heating for over fifteen years.
George Jr. was preceded in death by his father, George Eppes, Sr., and a sister Colene Johnson. He is survived by: his devoted mother Sadie Eppes; devoted sisters Wanda J. Eppes of Blackstone, VA, Gloria Cates of Oxford, NC and Bessie Coleman of Jersey City, NJ; one brother-in-law Tommie Cates of Oxford, NC; seven nieces Patricia Johnson of Crewe, VA, Lois and Jean of Jersey City, NJ and Casaundra, Eulonda, Tarjah and Rashida of Jersey City, NJ; devoted friends Gladys Foster, William Bolling, Jr., Melvin Vincent and Roy Blackwell; a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment Greenview Cemetery, Blackstone.
