Obituary for George E. Branch
Suddenly and quietly early Saturday morning, April 14, 2012, at 4:20 a.m. while residing at Trinity Missions of Farmville, God called George Edward Branch home to take his rest. Son of the late John and Mary Lue Branch, George was born November 12, 1923, the fourth of seven children.
He accepted Christ at an early age, was baptized and joined First Nottoway Baptist Church in Crewe, VA. George received his education in the Nottoway County School System. He received his Barber License from New York. He served in the United States Navy and received an Honorable Discharge.
George leaves to cherish his loving memories: one sister-in-law, Nancy Branch of Burkeville, VA; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and a faithful aid, Ms. Susie Pryor, who shared her kindness and soft voice talking with him.
Funeral Services Friday, April 20, 2012 at 12:00 noon at Yielding Zion Baptist Church, Burkeville with interment in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
