Obituary for Geneva J. Jones
Geneva Jones, 82 of Powhatan, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 24, 2015. Geneva was the daughter of the late Edinboro and Ella Jackson of Amelia, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her sisters and brother, Lizzie Williams, Wilson Jackson, Florence Barley and Pearl Mickle. She was the youngest of seven siblings.
Geneva accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Flower Hill Baptist Church, Amelia, Virginia. Even though she married and moved to another county, she never stopped attending Flower Hill, which she always called home.
Geneva met and married Wilbert Jones of Powhatan, the love of her life. They were together for sixty-four years, until sickness separated them.
Geneva leaves to mourn: two sisters, Cora Henderson and Edna Johnson both of Powhatan, Virginia; five nephews; four nieces; and a host of great nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.
Geneva was cared for by many talented caregivers, especially the staff at The Laurels of Bon Air, Debbie Cousins, Cora Bates, Agnes Vaughan, Juanita Jones, Chavonne Taylor, Marjorie Dudley, Lloyd Fleury, Cliff Howell, Wallace Jones and many supportive neighbors.
Funeral Services Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Flower Hill Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
