Obituary for Geneieve W. Rufin
Late Saturday evening at 8:00 p.m., an Angel was dispatched to MCV Hospital in Richmond, VA. The Angel whispered in Geneieve ear, “Well done, thy good and faithful servant, your work on earth is complete, Jesus is waiting for you”, so she slipped peacefully into eternal rest.
Geneieve Watson Ruffin was born February 15, 1953, one of six children of Thomas E. Watson, Sr. and Martha E. Watson of Rice, VA.
She received her education at Prince Edward public school. She was married to Alvin Ruffin and gave birth to one child. Geneieve was baptized at an early age and joined the Monroe Baptist Church where she remained a member until God called her home.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha E. Watson and a brother, Thomas E. Watson, Jr.
Geneieve leaves to cherish her memories: her husband Alvin Ruffin and son Junior Alvin Ruffin of Amelia, VA; her father, Thomas Watson, Sr. of Rice, VA; one sister, Rose (Mark) of Rice, VA; three brothers, Samuel (Pamela) of Farmville, VA, Freddie (Courtina) of Buckingham, VA and James Watson of Rice, VA; one sister-in-law, Eurcela Greene of Richmond, VA; one brother-in-law, Maurice (Liz) of Amelia, VA; mother-in-law, Latieefah (Shafelco) of Richmond, VA; one loving aunt, Mary Redd of Rice, VA; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Viewing at the funeral home Friday, July 22, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Monroe Baptist Church, Rice with interment in the church cemetery.
