Mr. Fred Linwood Henderson, Jr., the oldest son of the late Jenny Mable and Fred Henderson, Sr. was born on March 1, 1954. Early Monday morning, October 28, 2024, at the Johnston Willis Hospital, Fred quietly and peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home.
Fred was educated in the Amelia County School System, where he was a stellar Football player, graduating in 1973. At an early age, he was baptized and joined the Second Antioch Baptist Church in Powhatan, Virginia. Later, he met and married the love of his life, Mrs. Gracie Butler Henderson. He then moved his membership to the Promise Land Baptist Church where he served as a Trustee.
Fred was a faithful and hardworking man with a loveable and big heart. He was employed by Phillip Morris Tobacco Company and retired from Atlantic Construction Company as a Backhoe Operator. Fred loved watching Football, Game Shows and Westerns. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish fond memories - his devoted wife of 26 years, Mrs. Gracie Henderson; three sons – Fred Henderson, III, LeRon Henderson (Tanesha) and LeVon Henderson (Adrienne); one daughter – LaVerne Murray (Raymond); stepsons – James Baker (Stephanie). Phillip Baker (Jenaya) and Aubrey Mallory; host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother – Lonnie Henderson (Charlotte); two sisters – Joyce Morgan and Viola Hiers; devoted mother-in-law – Mrs. Gracie Butler; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends - among them - devoted – Brandon Johnson.
