Obituary for Franklin Robert Todd, Sr.
FRANKLIN ROBERT TODD, SR. was called home to be with the Lord on July 20, 2008 at Southside Community Hospital. Son of the late Joseph and Alice Todd, he was born April 10, 1950.
He attended Luther H. Foster High School and graduated in 1968. Franklin joined Gravel Hill Baptist Church at an early age and served faithfully until his death. He was ordained and became a Deacon on May 19, 2002.
He will be forever remembered for his praise and worship through his love of music. He was a member of the gospel group, The Ideal Spirituals for many years, he then later formed the Gospel Starlights where he remained faithful.
Franklin was employed at Westvaco Paper Company for many years, and later became employed at Hope Head Start where he was still employed.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and James Todd. He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 25 years, Christine (Boo) Todd ; five children, Tamara Ramsey (Gerald) of Crewe, VA, Freda Perry (Fletcher) of Jetersville, VA, Franklin Todd, Jr. of Farmville, VA, Adrienne Stokes of Burkeville, VA and Antonio (T-bone) of Crewe, VA; eighteen grandchildren; two sisters, Alice T. Christopher of Burkeville, VA and Shirley Todd of Salem, NJ; one aunt, Louise Gilliam; one uncle, James Todd; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Jones (Charlie); eight brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Gravel Hill Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
