Obituary for Franklin L. Mitchell
In the early morning hours on Thursday, January 14, 2021,God looked down and saw that one of his children needed eternal rest. He whispered to him and said “My son it is time to come home to be with your Heavenly Father”.
Franklin Lee Mitchell (affectionately known as Frankie Lee) was born on April 20, 1952 to the late Woodrow and Lucille Mitchell. He was a member of Little Bethel Baptist Church. Franklin was educated in the Amelia County Public Schools.
He was known by his family and friends as a loving ang caring person. He loved and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Franklin was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Mitchell; sister, Sandra Jefferson; and three brothers, John, William and Arthur Mitchell. He leaves behind to always cherish fond and precious memories: two devoted daughters, Aundrea Mitchell, Latonya Lightfoot (Orlando); step-daughter, LeRonda Jefferson; one devoted brother, Robert Mitchell; four sisters, Shirley Scott (James) and Beatrice Johnson, both of Richmond, VA, Brenda Booker (Clinton) of Midlothian, VA and Pamela Mitchell of Norfolk, VA; father-in-law, James Faulkner; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Robinson and Grace Mitchell (Craig); three brothers-in-law, James and Jesse Faulkner and Kevin Pegram; five grandchildren, Daquan Mitchell, Khira Scott, DaLauna, DaJuan and Dylan Jeter; two great grandchildren, Teriq and Tereah Mitchell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and one devoted friend, Bubba Hockaday.
