Obituary for Frances W.. Little
On Friday morning September 30, 2016, Mrs. Frances Lorine Washington-Little entered into eternal rest at her home in Crewe, VA. Frances was born on August 16, 1935 to Greatless and Maria Washington in Crewe, VA.
She attended Snead Spring Elementary and Luther H. Foster High Schools in Nottoway County, VA. At an early age she joined the New Bethel Baptist Church.
After graduating high school she moved to Baltimore, MD where she met the love of her life, David Lee Little. Frances and David were married May 15, 1975. After marriage they relocated to Snow Hill, NC where they resided until David’s death in 2013. Frances then moved back home to Crewe, VA.
Throughout her career she worked as a cook at different restaurants and hospitals in North Carolina and at Blackstone Restaurant during her early years.
Frances had a sweet yet feisty spirit. Family meant everything to her and she would talk about the “family reunion” year round. She was loved by everyone that knew her.
Frances was predeceased by her parents, Greatless and Maria Washington; daughter Elaine Washington Scott; sister Vivian Washington Staten; and sister-in-law Edna Washington.
She leaves to cherish her memories: two grandchildren, Kimberly Scott-Simon (Andrew) and Kenneth Scott, Jr. (Renee) both of Greensboro, NC; one brother, Edward Washington of Burkeville, VA; two sisters, Claudine Yates of Crewe, VA and Alma Dodson of Blackstone, VA; one sister-in-law, Louise Murphy of Snow Hill, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
