Obituary for Frances C. Edmonds
DEACONESS FRANCES COLEMAN EDMONDS departed this life on Monday, August 23, 2010 at her home in Blackstone, VA.
Deaconess Frances was born on May 9, 1925 to Junious and Celestine Coleman of Amelia County. At an early age she joined Manassa Hill Baptist Church in Amelia, VA where she was a faithful member until her health failed. She served as a Deaconess, Missionary, treasurer of the Usher Board, Choir member and was a wonderful Hospitality member.
On January 25, 1958, Deaconess Frances married her loving and devoted husband Deacon Howard Edmonds, Jr. of Blackstone, VA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, three brothers and one nephew. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted husband, Howard Edmonds, Jr.; one son, James R. Coleman, a devoted daughter-in-law, Ethel Coleman; two grandchildren, Charita and Cedric Coleman; two great grandchildren, Raekwon Epps as she called him “Lil Man” and Jasiya Barner; two sisters, Mary Booker and Jeanette Coleman both of Blackstone, VA; one God-daughter, Zakiya A. Worsham of Chesterfield, VA; one God-son, James Coleman, Jr. “D.J.” of Blackstone, VA; three sisters-in-law, Corine Miller (Howard), Pinkie Jefferson (Robert), and Elizabeth Coleman; three brothers-in-law, Richard Edmonds (Rebecca) and Jimmie Edmonds all of Blackstone, VA and Willard Edmonds (Pearl Ann) of Amelia, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from Manassa Hill Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
