Obituary for Forrest L. Fowlkes
Forrest Lorenzo Fowlkes was born November 15, 1951 in Nottoway County, Virginia. When he was a teenager, the family moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he excelled in high school football and everyone knew him by his nickname, “Moose”.
Afterwards, Forrest worked as a delivery driver and dispatcher for Carl Messenger Service. He later met and married his wife, Rosa. Together, they settled in Richmond, Virginia and started a delivery company. Forrest enjoyed visiting family and friends, playing a good card game and helping out anyone in need.
After his health began to decline and the tragic death of his wife and family, Forrest moved back to Crewe, Virginia to be near family and friends.
Forrest is preceded in death by his father Percy Fowlkes, Sr.; wife Rosa Fowlkes; stepdaughter Ariel Hubbard; grandson Josiah Kirby; and one brother Percy Fowlkes, Jr.
Forrest is survived by his mother Marion Jeffers; one son George Paul Williams; one grandson Shannon Williams; four brothers Jerry Fowlkes (Ann); Cornell Fowlkes (Darlene); Kenneth Fowlkes (Faye), Rodney Fowlkes; two sisters Brenda Johnson, Cindy Parotti (Craig), and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, In-Laws, and friends.
Forrest was a beloved son, brother, uncle, father and friend to many. He shared a special bond with Ja’Nel Carrington-Smith (son Jadon); Geralyn Farace (Cosimo & Cosimo Jr.); and a close friend Vanessa Hill.
Funeral Services Monday, September 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. from First Nottoway Baptist Church, Crewe. Interment Fowlkes Family Cemetery, Crewe.
