FLORENCE E. “COOKIE” JENKINS, age 66 went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2012. She was the eldest of ten children of the late Thomas and Julia A. Jefferson, Sr.
She joined Promise Land Baptist Church at an early age.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, and a brother, Richard Jefferson.
She leaves to mourn: her husband of thirty-one years, William H. Jenkins, Jr.; two children, Yolanda (Stacy) Byrd, Daniel (Alice) Staples; five grandchildren, Stacy Jr., Robbie, Cameon, Aaron Byrd, Shelanda Staples; two great grandchildren, Stacy III and Fayth Byrd; two stepchildren, Wayne and Andrea Jenkins; seven brothers, Edward (Mary) Thomas Jr., Curtis (Patricia), Samuel (Anita), Central (Shirley), Kenneth, Larry (Sandra); one sister, Sharon (James) Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Michael W. Hawkes Funeral Home Chapel, Amelia with interment in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
