Mrs. Fannie Mae Robertson (90) went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2010. She and her husband, the late Lewis Edward Robertson, Sr. were natives of Crewe, VA. They were married in 1939. Lewis preceded her in death on May 4, 1972. They later moved to Newport News, VA.
They were blessed as she always said with six good children, Lewis (Aleaze) Robertson, Carolyn Robertson Woody, Harry (Deborah) Robertson, Sharon (Leon) Blunt, Donnie Robertson and Kevin Robertson. She also leaves to mourn her passing, her sister Rosa Bagley, (2) sisters-in-law, Pat and Fannie Tuggle and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
She resided in Hampton, VA with her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Leon Blunt.
When she was younger, Mama Fannie, as she was affectionately known went to church on a regular basis. Her love for God moved her to get baptized at the age of eleven at Eleven Oaks Baptist Church. She was raised by her loving parents, John B. and Edith G. Tuggle after the death of her birth mother, Louise Tuggle. She was raised along with Earl, Rosa Lee Tuggle Bagley, John William, Lewis, Eloise Elisabeth Tuggle and Robert Smith.
Mama Fannie worked as a nurses aide for twenty three years at Riverside General Hospital. After retirement she moved back to her beloved Crewe, VA. She returned to Eleven Oaks Baptist Church lovingly serving God along with her Church family, being a part of the Missionary Circle. She enjoyed many years of close friendship with Mrs. Florence Oliver. While in retirement she was able to enjoy her passion for growing flowers and vegetables and sharing them with those she loved.
