Obituary for Evelyn Ann Parker
Evelyn Ann Parker was born May 3, 1949 to Deacon Willie Lee Scott and Corlene Parker Scott in Nottoway County. She was the eldest child of five children. She entered her eternal rest at her home on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in Blackstone, VA.
At an early age she was baptized and joined Cedar Hill Baptist Church where she served faithfully and attended worship services regularly. Evelyn made many contribution to her church and was two-hundred percent committed to the overall love for her church and God. Evelyn was a 1968 graduate of Luther H. Foster High School. She matriculated at Coppin State University where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. Evelyn was an avid member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She was employed with Baltimore City public schools as an education advocate for more than thirty years.
Evelyn’s favorite pastime which she greatly enjoyed was cooking and seeing the fruits of her labor of love.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Corlene Scott, and a sister Dorothy Scott. She leaves to cherish her memory: two brothers, Rodney Scott of Fayetteville, NC and Thomas (Cheryl) Scott of Columbia, SC; her precious sister of the home Jacqueline Scott; her uncle, Roosevelt (Lucille) Parker of Baltimore, MD; brother/cousin, Leroy Parker of Baltimore, MD; nephews, Javorris, Tee and Cohen; nieces, Malissa and Trinity; three great nieces; three great nephews; and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral Services Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Cedar Hill Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment church cemetery.
