Obituary for Evangelist Barbara A. Sheff
I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge will award me on that day…2Timothy: 6-8.

The Lord saw fit to pick from his garden a beautiful flower Evangelist Barbara A. Sheff of Jetersville, VA. She was one of four siblings born on August 7, 1950. Barbara received her education through Russell Grove School System in the county of Amelia. Barbara loved her family and was always there for support. She had sense of humor that kept the family laughing during family gatherings. She was a kind and loving person with a listening ear and willing to help anyone that she could. Barbara enjoyed shopping (loved to dress up), cooking, yard sales, and planting flowers.

Barbara confessed Christ as her Savior at an early age, was baptized and became a member of Union Branch Baptist Church in Jetersville, VA where she remained a faithful member until her health began to decline. During her Earthly Journey her praise begin through singing at her church with the Senior Choir. She continued her gift of singing with the Modernaire Gospel singers of Amelia, Chester Grove Baptist Church Senior Choir and at various churches when called upon. Barbara did not only sing and pray; she had a higher calling. She received her license at Union Branch Baptist to minister in season and out of season through Evangelism. Evangelist Sheff loved the Lord and did not mind sharing the goodness of the Lord. Her moto: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Philippians 4:13. She will often say I’ve had some good days; I’ve had some hills to climb; I’ve had some weary days; And some sleepless nights; But when I, look around; And think things over; All of my good days; Outweigh my bad days; I won’t complain.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Crowder; her dad, Joseph Crowder; brother, Joseph Crowder and nephews, Lamark and Andy Crowder.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: her devoted husband of 54 years Deacon Robert Sheff Jr.; daughter, Ronda Sheff; grandson, Rondell Sheff; great grands, Rakeem Sheff and Sincere Singleton; sister, Phyllis Sheff (Ronald); brother, Dallas Crowder (Barbara); God Sister, Jackie Wilkinson; aunts, Florine Bailey and Shirley Trent (John); mother in law, Dorothy Sheff; sister in laws, Lavita Booker (William), Bonita Jones (Arthur) and Arlene Monroe; brother in laws, Bradford Sheff, Wallace Sheff and Dennis Monroe; her loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives; devoted Barbara Byars and a devoted friend, caretaker and class mate Georgia Banks.
