Obituary for Ernest M. Perry
Ernest Perry, 62, of Newport News, VA, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at his home after a brief illness.

Ernest was born to the late Richard and Louise Hawkes Perry on August 7, 1956 in Amelia County, VA. He graduated from Amelia County High School in 1974. He was a dedicated employee at Halls Acura for numerous years until his declining health contributed to his retirement in November 2018. At an early age, he confessed his love for the Lord and became a member of Manassa Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed returning annually during Homecoming. After moving to Newport News, he attended New Beech Grove Baptist Church.
He had numerous hobbies and activities that he enjoyed tremendously: working on Acuras where he was quite proficient, hunting, fishing, watching sports and he proudly professed his love for the New York Giants.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Louise Hawkes Perry; brothers; Edgar “Jimmy”, Richard “Chubby”, Joshua “Darnell”, Fletcher “Cootsie”, and Byrdie Perry; and sisters; Asaline Davis, Helen Banks and Thelma Lawrence.

He leaves to cherish his fondest memories: a wife Sabrina; one daughter, Crystal Perry (Atlanta, GA); four sons: Corey Perry (Newport News, VA), Ernest “Tim” Perry (Florida), Quinton Booker (Tisha) Amelia, VA and Eric Royal (Shantell) Amelia, VA; a stepson, Tiyarn Blizzard, Newport News, VA; several grandchildren; one Brother, Benjamin Perry (Bettie); Sister in laws: Tarji Williams, Kiyi Edney, Jackie Perry and Sandra Perry; Friend, Delois Perry; Brother in laws: Dexter Whitfield, Adrian Edney and James Edney; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Poplar Lawn Baptist Church, 465 Poplar Lawn Rd., Blackstone, VA 23824. Interment Manassa Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Amelia.
