Obituary for Emma Harris
EMMA HARRIS, departed this life on November 11, 2010 at the age of 94 at Heritage Hall in Blackstone, Virginia. She was born in Nottoway County on July 4, 1916.
She attended Nottoway Training School. She was baptized at an early age at Mount Nebo Baptist Church and was a faithful member for many years until her health began to decline.
Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Page Harris; her sons, Page Harris, Jr. and Raymond Harris; and her daughter, Ella Johnson.
She is survived by three sons and one daughter, Leon Harris (Claudette), Emma Jackson, Samuel Harris, and Johnnie Harris (Patricia); twelve grandchildren; six great grandchildren; several brothers and sisters; nephews one devoted, Freeman Harris, Jr.; nieces; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church Cemetery, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.
W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of the arrangements.
