Obituary for Emma B. Edmonds
Emma Boyd Edmonds was called to her heavenly home on March 11, 2008. Emma, daughter of the late Richard and Dora Boyd was born on March 28, 1914 in Halifax County, Virginia. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Annie, Robert, Horace, Morris, and her loving husband Claiborne Edmonds. Emma was educated in Halifax County. She accepted Christ at an early age. Later in life, Emma moved to Blackstone, Virginia. In the community she was loved and appreciated, always had a smile and a witty word for everyone. She leaves to cherish a legacy of precious memories: one daughter, Rosa Adams; one son, Sema (Thelma) Howerton; six grandchildren, Mary D., Sherri, Tamika, Keisha, Shonnette and Derrick; eleven great grandchildren; loving nieces, Lois Younger, Elnora White, Brenda (Joe) Armstead, Gloria (Wondell) Williams and Barbara (Jeff) Goode; nephews, Horace (Florence) Boyd and Jesse (Virginia) Tucker; other relatives and friends. Funeral Services Saturday, March 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. from Springhill Baptist Church, Blackstone with interment in the church cemetery.W.E.
