Obituary for Elnora J. Clarke
Our precious angel Mrs. Elnora J. Clarke 78, of Blackstone, VA, was called home on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at River View Nursing Home in Hopewell, VA. She was born to the late Eliza and Robert Johnson on September 1, 1935 in Ford, VA. She confessed Christ and joined Bloomfield Baptist Church in Wilson, VA. After her health started to decline Mrs. Clarke came to South Chesterfield, VA to be close to her devoted son Lee Roy Clarke and her faithful granddaughter Patricia Davis.Â
She was a kind and sweet woman who lived a simple and joyful life; loving and adoring her family and friends. Mrs. Clarke retired from Clay’s Nursing Home where she worked for many years. She also was passionate about cleaning she loved keeping her home clean as well as doing housekeeping for others in the community.
She was married to Robert Clarke for years 40 years before his death.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her daughters, Toursia Taylor and Rosanne Clarke, sons, Thomas, Bobby, and Edward Clarke; sisters, Sadie Windfield and Francis Washington; brothers, Phil, Robert and Arthur Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two loving devoted sons Lee Roy Clarke and Edward Worsham of Petersburg, VA; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren, those closest to her Patricia Davis, Kesha Davis, Patrice Bonner, James and Tameika Brown, Leryco Hayes, Denise Johnson Scooter Jackson, James Jackson, Travis Worsham and Stephaine, Jakeya Davis, Alayzia and Ronald Roney; a loving sister Lettie Morgan (Harvey-deceased) of Ford, VA; daugther-in-law, Loretta Clark of Blackstone, VA and one son-in-law Floyd Taylor of Mckenney, VA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends including her devoted nephew Malcolm Johnson, caregiver and friend Leah Eubanks and a close friend Jack Jones.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at W.E. Hawkes & Son
