Obituary for Ella Jane Perry
On Saturday, November 8, 2008, God sent His Angel to the Medical College of Virginia and took our beloved, ELLA JANE PERRY to her Heavenly home. Peacefully she answered the Master’s call. Her life began November 3, 1936 to the late James Norman and Gertrude Gee Perry.
Ella received her education in the Nottoway County public schools. At an early age she was baptized and became a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church. Ella enjoyed music and singing and was a member of the senior choir.
Ella worked various jobs in this community and then relocated to Richmond where she later retired.
Ella was a loving and caring person who adored children and always did whatever she could for family and friends. Whenever she was around she always had a joke to tell to put a smile on your face. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her, but we find comfort in knowing God’s will has been done.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Richard and three sisters, Helen, Mary and Rosa.
She leaves to cherish precious memories: a loving daughter, Evelyn Robinson (Harold) of Richmond, VA; one devoted grandson, Michael of Richmond, VA; four great grandchildren, Michael Jr., Iveion, Trevell, and Asia all of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Isaac and Willie Perry of Crewe, VA; one sister-in-law, Juanita of Crewe, VA; two nephews, Herman and Henry; eight nieces, Mary, Clementine, Euphesenia, Alicia, Sandra, Angela, Cotrina and Tarlisaer; several great nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. One devoted friend, Tashawnda Green.
Funeral Service Friday, November 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Blackstone, VA with interment in the church cemetery.
W.E. Hawkes & Son Funeral Home of Blackstone in charge of the arrangements.
