Obituary for Edward J. Williams
Mr. Edward Williams was born December 13, 1940, to the late Mr. Fulton and Mrs. Ardie Williams. He departed this life April 18, 2012 at the MCV Hospital.
Edward received his education in the Prince Edward County Public schools. Earlier in life he accepted Christ and was baptized. He attended the New Bethel church in Meherrin, and the Yielding Zion Baptist church in Burkeville. Recently he completed an extensive series of bible lessons and faithfully attended the Sharon Seventh-day Adventist Church in Crewe, Virginia, where he had decided to rededicate his life to Christ through re-baptism.
Edward was blessed by God with four children: “Marty Williams (wife Elsie), “Keith Williams, “April Alyousufi”, and “Nakia Williams” who preceded him in death.
In addition to his children he leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife; “Norma Williams”, five step children; “Cynthia Williams”, “Jeannette Wilson”, “Alvin Epps, Jr.”, “Rachal Epps”, and “Susanna Epps”. One brother and sister-in-law: “Bobby and Gale Williams”, two sisters; “Shirley Williams” and “Alice Whalen”: seven grand children, four great grand children, and one aunt; “Pernell John”.
Edward loved gardening, games and fishing. He was a kind, gentle, loving and caring person who was willing to help anyone he could. His humility and compassion for others were a testimony to his character and the contributions he made to life. While he will be missed on this side of the spiritual Jordan, we claim by faith the promise of the Lord to be reunited with him again in the glorious resurrection to come!
Funeral Services Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 1:00pm at Sharon 7th-Day Adventist Church, Crewe with private burial.
