Obituary for Edward "Eddie" Wright
Edward “Eddie” L. Wright, son of Sallie Wright was born on August 17, 1936 in Nottoway County. He departed this life on Monday, October 29, 2918 at Centra Southside Hospital in Farmville, VA.
Eddie attended Luther H. Foster High School. His hobbies were helping others when he could, gardening, planting flowers and anything that he could do outside.
Eddie was married to the former Sarah Boswell and from that union three children were born, Charles, Janice and Barbara.
After the death of his wife Sarah, God did not intend for Eddie to live out his life alone, so he sent someone else to fill the void in his heart. Ten years ago, his path crossed with Rosa Yates of McKenney, VA and they built a bond that extended his existing family to something new. His existing family now included June Yates, Audrey Wallace and LaKeisha Monclova and family. This merger of families introduced Eddie to old and new friends in the McKenney and Dinwiddie area where he was truly loved by all.
Eddie was preceded in death by his mother, Sallie Wright; grandson, Shaun Johnson; two brothers, George and Herman Wright. He is survived by his son, Charles Wright of Blackstone, VA; two daughters, Janice Johnson of Blackstone, VA and Barbara Sims of McKenney, VA; six grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law, Ethel Wright, Patsy Knight, Mary Gilcrest, Martha Boswell, all of Blackstone, VA and Ida Hardy of McKenney, VA; two brothers-in-law, James Knight of Blackstone, VA and Morris Hardy of McKenney, VA; his extended family, Rosa Yates, June Yates, Audrey Wallace and LaKeisha Monclova and family; other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Cellar Creek Baptist Church, Blackstone. Interment Shiloh Dinwiddie Baptist Church Cemetery, Blackstone.
