Obituary for Edward Anderson
Life
Edward Anderson Sr * better know as “Slim”* is the son of the late Powhatan and Eva Anderson.  After a brief illness, he departed this life on March 19, 2011, at Retreat Hospital, Richmond, Virginia.
Dedication
Edward joined Union Branch Baptist Church at an early age. After moving to Richmond, Va. he would attend church whenever he could until his health failed. To many; Slim was a very humble man. Edward was educated in Truxillo school. He worked at numerous jobs. Slim loved watching sports “Redskins fan”. He love taking walks down Broad street; he was a great supporter of the 2nd Street Festival , where he would meet many of his friends and family.
Union
Edward leaves to cherish fond memories: wife Jacqueline J; from this Union he leaves three children Edward Jr, Amelia Va; Eva Anderson, Richmond, Va.; and Jocelyn (John) Thompkins, Amelia, Va.
Family
Edward leaves his sister Irene (Ernest) Ranson of Richmond, Va; Grandchildren; Jason and Brandon Love; Shawn Thompkins. 2 Step-grandchildren and 5 Great-grandchildren. Sister-in-law; Jean Irvine, Philadelphia, Pa; Gloria Walker, Los Angeles, Ca and Renee Jones, New Kent, Va; Brother-in-law Elder Alonzo (Barbara) Jones of Chesterfield, Va. A host of nieces, nephews, and cousins FriendsEdward made many friends throughout his life his devoted were those of the Dominion Place and staffs of Envoy of Strafford Hills Nursing Home.
Funeral Services Friday, March 25, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Branch Baptist Church, Amelia with interment in the church cemetery.
