He attended Amelia County High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 28 years. While in the Army he received his Associates Degree in General Studies from Central Texas College. In 2002, Edgar received his Bachelors of Science from Trinity College and University. He then went on to receive his Bachelors of Science in Social Science from the University of Maryland. He later received his Master's degree in Business Administration Human Resource Management Summa Cum Laude from Touro University International in December of 2006. Edgar's biggest accomplishment while battling ALS he received his Doctorate in Philosophy in Business Administration Leadership from Trident where he received the highest score in the school's history so far.
Surviving is his son, Marquis Guyton, his mother Frances Booker, and father Robert (Alfreda) Robinson. He had three sisters; Alice, Pamela, and Kimberly Guyton and Monica Robinson. Two brothers Avery (Mona) Williams and Derrick Royal. Two grandkids Ethan and Kori Guyton. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
