Obituary for Easter Mae Shuler
Gently, and peacefully our family circle was broken. On January 20, 2022 Easter Mae Shuler gained her wings.

Easter departed this life at home in Burkeville, VA. She attended Drake Business School before being employed and retiring from her position of customer service at GMAC in New York. Easter returned to her birth residence of Burkeville VA to enjoy her family and life. She joined Union Baptist Church and worked with the missionaries and hospitality and loved to travel with her loving husband. She was a people person who loved spending time with family and friends as well as cooking and baking for family functions and occasions.

Easter’s legacy is giving. She gave so much never expecting anything in return. She gave out of her love for God and others. She opened her home so many times to help others.

She leaves behind her husband Jesse Shuler, Sr.; her children Tawanna, Jesse Jr, Felicia, Tasha and Tyrone; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two brothers David Jr (Carol) and William Craft; three sisters-in-law Yvonne Mckiver, Dorothy Mitchelle; brother-in-law Luther Shuler(Evabell Shuler); a host of cousins nieces and nephews; two great friends Mary Miller and Audreynette Williams Tucker. She will be truly missed, but we know that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” To God Be The Glory!

Easter is preceded in death by her parents, David and Alice Craft; three brothers Robert, Larry and Ronnie and two sisters Gladys and Ethel.

Viewing Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 1 to 7PM. Funeral Service Friday, January 28, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Hawkes Funeral
Home. Interment Craft Family Cemetery, Burkeville.
