Obituary for Earnest L. Henderson
Earnest Lionel Henderson, 61 of Moseley, VA departed from his earthly journey on November 13, 2020. He was born and raised in Moseley, VA.

Earnest was a proud graduate of Powhatan High School and Appalachian State University where he played football from high school through college. He returned back home and began working full-time and coaching various sports at his beloved Powhatan High School for over thirty years. He was a Washington Redskin and Michael Jordan fan.

Earnest was a Life Coach to anyone who needed him. He was always willing to talk to someone to enrich their lives. For Earnest it was always about The Kids. That is what he always said and lived for. That was his life’s mission, he was dedicated to helping the youth at Powhatan High School and the youth through his employment with the Juvenile Correctional System. That was just Coach Henderson.

Earnest was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Henderson (Pa) and his brother Steve (Hollywood) Henderson. He is survived by his devoted wife, Gwendolyn Henderson; daughter, Contrease Smith; his sons, Earnest Lamont Henderson and Kesari Henderson; his mother, Geneva Henderson; three aunts, Octavia Lawson, Hattie Harris and Helen Spencer; and a host of other family and friends.

Viewing for Mr. Henderson will be Friday, November 2020 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
